January 9 – Matching Game-Test your knowledge about rock and minerals. Can you match the descriptions to the actual items?
February 13 - Wire Wrapping – It is always fun to learn new techniques. Let’s see what we can create. Meet early – Sandra Bryant will instruct us.
March 12 – Gem Tree Creativity. - Let’s create some gem trees for Mother’s Day Door Prizes at our Annual Show.
April 9 – Painting Rocks – We can use some well created rock painting to add to prizes for our Kids’ Corner. Try out your artistry
April 20-21- Lakeside Show - Kennewick
May 9 - Annual Show Setup. EOTEC-Potluck for members and Show Dealers
May 10- 12 Hosting NFMS Annual Gem and Mineral Show. (Three Days)
May 13 – Wagon Ride and Geocaching Excursion (Federation Show offering)
May 14 – Show and Tell – Did you buy something fun at the Show? Bring it to show it off.
June 1 – Field Trip – Saddle Mountain (Woods)
June 11 – Unique Rock Contest – What is the most unique rock you own? Bring it to the meeting and perhaps win a prize.
July 9 – Jeopardy – Pit your team’s knowledge against two others to find out who gets to pick the rock prizes first.
July 13- Field Trip - Fossil
August 10 – Field Trip – Middle Fork of the John Day (Wood, Quartz, Etc.)
August 17 (Saturday) - Picnic and Silent Auction – Come relax in the Park. Enjoy a potluck lunch with the main dish supplied by the club. After lunch, try your hand at winning a bid for your favorite rock (There is no regular Tuesday meeting in August.)
September 7-8 Marcus Whitman Show – Walla Walla
September 10 – “How To” Demonstration – (Maybe we can talk Sandra into helping us create something else.)
September 14- Field Trip – Fir Road (Agates)
October 8 - Annual Rock Costume Contest - Your creative juices may come up with a winner such as "pop rocks", "two faced guy" or "punk rock". There are three prizes: 1st place, 2nd place and most creative story, so come join the fun.
October 19-20 – Hells Canyon Show – Lewiston
November 12 - "I Did It" Contest - You may enter this contest three times, as there are three categories: "I Made It", "I Found It" and "I Bought It". Items must be within the last year. Winners of each category receive a plaque
December 10 - Annual Christmas Party - Come enjoy good company, good food and fun times. We generally play "rock BINGO" and have a rock related gift exchange. The Club furnishes a main dish, drinks and all the utensils.
